About

Built around the idea that darts is more fun when no one's keeping score.

Flight Club sits inside Ship Canal House on King Street — one of Manchester city centre's grandest Edwardian buildings, right in the thick of it between Spinningfields and St Ann's Square. Michael and the team have turned the space into something that doesn't look much like a bar, or a game, or a restaurant — it's a bit of all three, and it works precisely because it doesn't try to be any one thing.

The venue runs 14 oche playing areas, each equipped with Social Darts® technology that tracks where your dart lands and scores automatically — so you don't need to know a double top from a double bed to have a good time. Groups of two to 340 can book. The semi-private spaces work well for office parties, birthday dos, and hen nights where half the group hasn't held a dart since the school common room. The other half can be just as bad; it genuinely doesn't matter.

The bar runs showstopping cocktails alongside a menu of sharing plates and bottomless pizza on weekend brunches. Live DJs play every Saturday. It's the kind of place that earned a 4.7 rating from over 3,200 Google reviews not because of any one thing, but because everything in the room — the fairground horse Matilda, the murals, the lights, the attentive staff — is pointed in the same direction. Manchester voted with its feet: Best Pub in Greater Manchester at the National Pub and Bar Awards 2022, and Experiential Business of the Year 2024.

King Street is easy to reach from anywhere in Greater Manchester — a short walk from St Peter's Square tram stop or Victoria, and a straight shot up from Piccadilly. If you're planning a large group event of 37 or more, the team can set up semi-private areas and pre-arranged bar tabs so everything's sorted before you walk through the door. Smaller groups can book a bar table or an oche session for two and turn up with no plan beyond having a good evening. Both work fine.
